Indulge in the creamy, savory goodness of Salmon and Shrimp Alfredo—a decadent dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. With tender salmon, succulent shrimp, and a rich Alfredo sauce, this pasta recipe is guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) fettuccine or pasta of choice: Cooked and drained.
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each): Skinless, seasoned with salt and pepper.
  • 1 cup (150g) shrimp: Peeled and deveined.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter: For cooking the seafood.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter: For the Alfredo sauce.
  • 3 garlic cloves: Minced for flavor.
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy cream: The base for the Alfredo sauce.
  • 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated for maximum flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional): For a subtle depth of flavor.
  • Salt and black pepper: To taste.
  • Chopped parsley: For garnish.

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Sear the Salmon

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the seasoned salmon fillets and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Once slightly cooled, flake the salmon into chunks.

Step 3: Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil or butter.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

Step 4: Make the Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally.
  4. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg (if using).

Step 5: Combine and Serve

  1. Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
  2. Gently fold in the flaked salmon and cooked shrimp.
  3. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t Overcook the Seafood: Salmon and shrimp cook quickly, so keep an eye on them to avoid dryness.
  • Use Fresh Parmesan: Pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly, so opt for freshly grated Parmesan.
  • Customize Your Add-Ins: Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
  • Reserve Pasta Water: Save ½ cup of pasta water to adjust the sauce’s consistency if needed.
