- 1 cup (150g) shrimp: Peeled and deveined.
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter: For cooking the seafood.
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter: For the Alfredo sauce.
- 3 garlic cloves: Minced for flavor.
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy cream: The base for the Alfredo sauce.
- 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated for maximum flavor.
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional): For a subtle depth of flavor.
- Salt and black pepper: To taste.
- Chopped parsley: For garnish.
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Sear the Salmon
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the seasoned salmon fillets and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the skillet and set aside. Once slightly cooled, flake the salmon into chunks.
Step 3: Cook the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil or butter.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Step 4: Make the Alfredo Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg (if using).
Step 5: Combine and Serve
- Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
- Gently fold in the flaked salmon and cooked shrimp.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Don’t Overcook the Seafood: Salmon and shrimp cook quickly, so keep an eye on them to avoid dryness.
- Use Fresh Parmesan: Pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly, so opt for freshly grated Parmesan.
- Customize Your Add-Ins: Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
- Reserve Pasta Water: Save ½ cup of pasta water to adjust the sauce’s consistency if needed.
