- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice: Brightens up the flavor.
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest: Adds an extra punch of citrus.
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper: For that peppery kick.
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter: To make the glaze smooth and rich.
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Wings
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the chicken wings with baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings on the wire rack in a single layer.
Step 2: Bake the Wings
- Bake the wings for 20 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings for 2-3 minutes at the end.
Step 3: Make the Honey Lemon Pepper Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, cracked black pepper, and butter over medium heat.
- Stir until the butter is melted and the glaze is smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 4: Toss and Serve
- Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl.
- Pour the honey lemon pepper glaze over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately with a sprinkle of additional lemon zest or cracked pepper for garnish.
Notes
- Dry the Wings Thoroughly: Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels for the crispiest results.
- Don’t Skip the Rack: Elevating the wings on a wire rack ensures even airflow for crisp cooking.
