Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough, brioche, or your favorite bread)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 ripe banana, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 23 slices of mild cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or gouda)
  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Bread

  1. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich
2. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
3. Layer the cheese slices evenly over the bread.
4. Add banana slices on top of the cheese. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon if using.
5. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.

Step 3: Cook the Sandwich
6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
7. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, pressing gently with a spatula to help the cheese melt.
8. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes until both sides are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
9. Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool slightly.
10. Drizzle with extra honey, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Bread: Sourdough adds a slight tang, while brioche gives a sweeter touch.
  • Experiment with Cheese: Try cream cheese or ricotta for a milder flavor, or brie for a rich, creamy texture.
  • Extra Texture: Add a sprinkle of crushed nuts or granola for crunch.
