Description

If you love rich, fudgy brownies but want a fruity twist, these Glazed Blueberry Brownies are a must-try! The combination of deep chocolate and juicy blueberries creates an indulgent yet refreshing dessert, topped with a luscious blueberry glaze that takes it to the next level.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownies:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries (do not thaw if frozen)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)

For the Blueberry Glaze:

  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until combined.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in blueberries and chocolate chips.

Step 2: Bake the Brownies

  1. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Let cool completely before adding glaze.

Step 3: Make the Blueberry Glaze

  1. In a small saucepan, cook blueberries, powdered sugar, and lemon juice over medium heat until berries burst and release their juices.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Strain the glaze through a fine mesh sieve to remove skins for a smooth texture.
  4. Let the glaze cool slightly.

Step 4: Glaze & Serve

  1. Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled brownies.
  2. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t Overmix – This keeps the brownies soft and fudgy.
Use Fresh or Frozen Blueberries – Frozen berries work well but don’t thaw them first.
For Extra Moist Brownies – Slightly underbake them and let them set as they cool.
