Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (plus extra for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Step 2: Make the Garlic Sauce

  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Step 3: Assemble the Gratin

  1. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in an oven-safe baking dish.
  2. Pour the garlic cream sauce evenly over the shrimp.
  3. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and breadcrumbs on top.

Step 4: Bake and Serve

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, and the top is golden and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Shrimp: Fresh or thawed shrimp work best for optimal texture.
  • Grate Your Own Cheese: Pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly.
  • Customize the Spice: Add more red pepper flakes if you like it spicier!
