Ingredients

For the Beef Filling:

  • Ground Beef (1 lb): Juicy and flavorful protein base.
  • Butter (3 tbsp): For that rich, buttery taste.
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced): Infuses the beef with savory depth.
  • Honey (2 tbsp): Adds natural sweetness to balance the smoky BBQ.
  • BBQ Sauce (½ cup): Smoky and tangy base for the beef.
  • Smoked Paprika (1 tsp): Adds a smoky kick.
  • Salt & Pepper: To taste.

For the Tacos:

  • Soft Flour or Corn Tortillas (8 small): Warm and ready to fill.
  • Shredded Lettuce (1 cup): Adds a fresh, crunchy bite.
  • Cheddar Cheese (½ cup, shredded): Melty goodness.
  • Red Onion (½, thinly sliced): For a pop of sharp flavor.
  • Fresh Cilantro (2 tbsp, chopped): Optional, for garnish.
  • Lime Wedges: For squeezing over the tacos.

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Beef

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and the ground beef.
  2. Cook the beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Step 2: Make the Garlic Butter BBQ Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.

Step 3: Combine Beef and Sauce

  1. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly in the garlic butter BBQ sauce. Simmer for another 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Step 4: Warm the Tortillas

  1. Warm the tortillas in a small pan or microwave for 30 seconds until soft and pliable.

Step 5: Assemble the Tacos

  1. Fill each tortilla with a generous spoonful of the beef mixture.
  2. Top with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, red onions, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
  3. Squeeze lime juice over the tacos before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t Overstuff: Keep the filling light so you can fold and enjoy them easily.
  • Add Heat: Sprinkle on some chili flakes or drizzle with hot sauce if you like it spicy.
  • Meal Prep: Cook the beef ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
