Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears: Choose firm but ripe pears such as Bosc or Anjou.
  • 4 oz blue cheese, crumbled: The star of the dish, adding creamy and tangy notes.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans: For a nutty crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon honey: Adds a touch of sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice: To keep the pears fresh and enhance the flavor.
  • A handful of fresh arugula or microgreens (optional): For garnish and added color.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pears

  1. Wash and dry the pears. Slice them in half lengthwise.
  2. Use a melon baller or a small spoon to remove the core and create a small hollow in the center of each pear half.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the pears with lemon juice to prevent browning.

Step 2: Mix the Filling
4. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled blue cheese, chopped nuts, and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix until evenly combined.

Step 3: Stuff the Pears
5. Spoon the blue cheese mixture into the hollows of the pear halves, pressing gently to fill them.

Step 4: Assemble and Serve
6. Arrange the stuffed pears on a serving platter.
7. Drizzle with the remaining honey for a glossy finish.
8. Garnish with fresh arugula or microgreens, if desired, for a pop of color.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Pears: Look for pears that are ripe but firm enough to hold their shape.
  • Customize the Nuts: Swap walnuts or pecans for almonds or hazelnuts for a different flavor.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the filling in advance and assemble the pears just before serving.
