Ingredients
- Unsalted Butter (½ cup, melted)
- All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
- Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
- Baking Powder (1 tsp)
- Salt (¼ tsp)
- Milk (¾ cup)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Cherry Pie Filling (1 can, 21 oz)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Dish
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Mix the Batter
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
Step 3: Pour & Layer
Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish—do not stir. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly on top. The batter will rise around the cherries while baking.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling around the edges.
Step 5: Cool & Serve
Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
Notes
- Don’t Stir the Layers: The batter rises as it bakes, creating that perfect crust.
- Use Fresh Cherries: Swap the canned filling for fresh cherries mixed with sugar and cornstarch.
- Make it Crispier: Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking for a crispier crust.
