Description

These Easy Melted Snowman Cookies are as adorable as they are delicious! Perfect for holiday baking with the family, these cookies are fun to make and even more fun to eat. A combination of sugar cookies, marshmallows, and a creative touch make these little snowmen come to life (or melt!) in the sweetest way.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookies

  • 1 batch of your favorite sugar cookies (homemade or store-bought dough)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for rolling dough, if needed)

For the Decorations

  • 1 cup white royal icing or vanilla frosting
  • 10 large marshmallows
  • Assorted decorating gels or icing pens (black, orange, and other colors for scarves and buttons)
  • Mini chocolate chips or candy eyes (for eyes)
  • Edible sprinkles (optional, for scarves)

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven according to the sugar cookie recipe or package instructions.
  2. Roll out the cookie dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into rounds using a cookie cutter or glass.
  3. Place the rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Icing

  1. If using frosting, microwave it for 5-10 seconds to make it slightly runny. If using royal icing, ensure it’s at a drizzling consistency.
  2. Spread or drizzle the icing over each cookie, letting it drip down the sides to mimic a “melted” look.

Step 3: Add the Marshmallows

  1. Lightly press a marshmallow onto one side of the cookie while the icing is still wet to act as the snowman’s “head.”

Step 4: Decorate the Snowmen

  1. Use black gel or an icing pen to draw eyes, a mouth, and buttons on the icing and marshmallow.
  2. Use orange gel to create a carrot nose on the marshmallow.
  3. Add colorful gel or sprinkles to make scarves around the base of the marshmallow.
  4. Let the cookies sit for about 30 minutes to allow the icing to set.

Notes

  • Keep it Simple: Use pre-made dough and frosting for a super quick version.
  • Get Creative: Add hats, mittens, or other accessories to your snowmen with candies or extra icing.
  • Let Kids Help: Decorating these cookies is a fun activity for little hands.
