Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 beef sausages: Your favorite brand or type, preferably large enough to stuff.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese: Or use cheddar, pepper jack, or your favorite melty cheese.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil: For searing the sausages.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder: For extra flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika: Adds a hint of smoky warmth.
  • Salt and pepper: To taste.
  • Fresh parsley (optional): For garnish.
  • Toothpicks: To secure the sausages, if needed.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sausages

  1. Preheat your skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Slice each beef sausage lengthwise down the middle, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. Gently open the sausages to create a pocket for the filling.

Step 2: Stuff with Cheese

  1. Fill each sausage pocket with shredded mozzarella cheese. Use a toothpick to secure the sausage if it won’t stay closed on its own.

Step 3: Season and Cook

  1. Rub the sausages with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the sausages in the skillet or grill pan, cheese side up. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese.
  3. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, flipping carefully to avoid spilling the cheese, until the sausages are browned and cooked through.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  1. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a pop of freshness. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choose High-Quality Sausages: A good-quality beef sausage will make all the difference in flavor.
  • Don’t Overstuff: Too much cheese may spill out during cooking. A little goes a long way!
  • Use a Lid: Covering the skillet helps the cheese melt evenly.
  • Experiment with Cheeses: Try a mix of cheeses for added depth, like gouda or Parmesan.
