Ingredients

  • Chicken Breasts (4 large, boneless, skinless) – The perfect base for stuffing.

  • Asparagus (12 spears, trimmed) – Adds a fresh, slightly crunchy bite.

  • Parmesan Cheese (½ cup, shredded) – Nutty and salty, perfect for a rich flavor.

  • Mozzarella Cheese (½ cup, shredded) – Melts beautifully for a creamy texture.

  • Garlic Powder (1 tsp) – Adds a hint of savory goodness.

  • Paprika (½ tsp) – Gives the chicken a beautiful golden color.

  • Salt & Pepper (to taste) – Enhances all the flavors.

  • Olive Oil (2 tbsp) – For searing and baking.

  • Italian Seasoning (1 tsp) – A perfect blend of herbs for a classic flavor.

  • Lemon Juice (1 tbsp) – Adds a light, fresh touch.

  • Toothpicks – To secure the chicken while baking.


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.

Step 2: Butterfly the Chicken

Using a sharp knife, slice each chicken breast horizontally (without cutting all the way through) to create a pocket for stuffing.

Step 3: Stuff the Chicken

Season the inside of each chicken breast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stuff each with 3 asparagus spears, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Close the chicken breast and secure with toothpicks.

Step 4: Season & Sear

Brush the outside of each chicken breast with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Step 5: Bake the Chicken

Transfer the seared chicken to the baking dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C)).

Step 6: Serve & Enjoy!

 

Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before removing the toothpicks. Garnish with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley, then serve hot!

Notes

Use Fresh Asparagus – It should be firm and bright green for the best texture.
Don’t Overstuff – Too much filling can cause the chicken to open while baking.
Secure Well – Use enough toothpicks to hold everything in place.
Sear First – This helps lock in moisture and adds a crispy crust.
