Ingredients
For the Bread:
- All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
- Baking Powder (1 ½ tsp)
- Baking Soda (½ tsp)
- Salt (½ tsp)
- Ground Cinnamon (1 tsp)
- Granulated Sugar (¾ cup)
- Brown Sugar (¼ cup, packed)
- Unsalted Butter (½ cup, melted)
- Eggs (2 large)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Milk (½ cup)
- Apples (2 medium, peeled and chopped)
For the Cinnamon Swirl & Topping:
- Brown Sugar (¼ cup, packed)
- Ground Cinnamon (1 tsp)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
Step 4: Make the Batter
Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
Step 5: Layer the Batter & Cinnamon Swirl
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon swirl mixture (brown sugar and cinnamon) over the batter. Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon swirl mixture. Use a knife to gently swirl it into the batter.
Step 6: Bake
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil in the last 15 minutes.
Step 7: Cool & Serve
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- Use Fresh Apples: Choose crisp, sweet apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji.
- Don’t Overmix: Stir the batter until just combined to keep it light and fluffy.
- Store Properly: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
