Ingredients
- Medium Russet or Yukon Gold Potatoes (4) – Perfect for crispy edges.
- Olive Oil (2 tbsp) – Helps crisp up the potatoes.
- Butter (2 tbsp, melted) – Adds richness and flavor.
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced) – Infuses a savory kick.
- Salt & Pepper (to taste) – Enhances the flavor.
- Paprika (½ tsp, optional) – Adds a hint of smoky flavor.
- Parmesan Cheese (¼ cup, grated, optional) – For a cheesy, crispy topping.
- Fresh Parsley (2 tbsp, chopped, for garnish) – Adds freshness.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
- Wash and dry the potatoes.
- Place a potato between two chopsticks or wooden spoons to prevent cutting all the way through.
- Using a sharp knife, make thin slices about ⅛-inch apart, stopping just before reaching the bottom. Repeat with all potatoes.
Step 2: Season the Potatoes
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Brush the mixture over the potatoes, making sure to get into the slices.
Step 3: Air Fry the Potatoes
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry for 20 minutes, then brush with more butter mixture.
- Continue air frying for another 10–15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
Step 4: Add Cheese & Serve
- If using Parmesan, sprinkle it on top in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Remove from the air fryer and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Use Evenly Sized Potatoes – Ensures they cook at the same rate.
- Don’t Cut Too Deep – Leave about ¼-inch uncut at the bottom.
- Brush with Butter Midway – This keeps them moist and crispy.
- Experiment with Toppings – Try bacon bits, cheddar cheese, or chives.
